Hottest summer I can remember in about 20 yrs. It's killin me too. Hell, where I'm workin now I'm in the sun all day, no shade at all. I'm havin to drink a gal to gal and a half a water just to keep my head from spinnin. With hard hat, safety glasses, fall protection harness by 2:30 I'm dyin on the vine; 3:30 I'm burnin rubber to get home to some AC.

Heat index of over 100 every day last week. Humidity for dayz.......

Damn near stroked out.
End of the day,,,,,broke my last drill bit and could not finish the job....... Pissed off so bad I dern near compelled my self to kill my helper out of meanness....
But I soon realized I had not the strength to kill him. Nor the strength to load my truck by myself if I did kill him. Barely enough strength to wipe the sweat from my brow.

Sides,,,,he's a perty good little helper and I'da felt real bad after wards.....

Just gotta suck it up and stay well hydrated ladies.

I have to work on hot cars in this heat. Everything I touch looks like I sprayed water on it from the sweat dripping off me. Humidity so bad you can't see for over 4 miles and I am used to crotch deep snow and -10f.
This heat is driving me nuts!!! 5 garden hose showers a day..

P.S. It's only in the low to mid 90's here...

Oh, it is hell to be retired so you don't have to get out in this mess. Cry your hearts out my distilling friends.

Before you all jump on me like a hen on a June bug let me say I am just teasing, and hope to heck that it cools off soon for you fellows that have to get out in it.

in this corner of the world the normal weather pattern would be 3 to 5 weeks of temps near to, to well above 100 f. that same time frame this year the temp has barely made 90. todays temp 74 and rain . darn near the end of july and the desert is still green and growing. it's going to be a great fire season ! :moresarcasm: cob

A duvet? You'll hate me even more - it's a big cover blanket that's filled with goose down! In the middle of summer!!

The tropical north coast of Oz where I live is a bitch for 6-8 months of the year. It is either drenching monsoon rain, massive cyclones, and mould everywhere. Or blazing tropical sun with temps around 95-100 F and humidity rarely below 65-70, often much higher.

Worst time is Oct-Nov, just before the rains hit, known as 'the build-up', ie crazy season. That is when the real drinking starts.

Air-cons in almost every house. And they ain't the evaporative type.

Even now in the coolest season max temps are still around 85-90 F, though humidity is way down, so it is quite comfortable in the shade.
Be safe.
Be discreet.
And have fun.

I used to live in Toronto and that humid heat just stinks. They're having a similar heat wave there, right now. I think it's the same system the Midwest is having. When I lived there, me and my friends used to sit outside till the wee hours of the morning 'cause there was no way of sleeping. Just blinking made me sweat. Seemed like the entire city was awake. Where I live now, we get a couple of those sweltering days a year. We do get dry bouts, though. That's when it seems like our whole province is on fire. That's when I get a little scared.

Pretty much in the midst of the craphole heatwave, I too am a misplaced Yankee who cowers inside during the relentless heat, a normal summer or not I await for autumn to finish my house siding or any outside activity. I volunteer and work almost every weekend as the addle headed farmers I work with seem to want the 100 million degree days off as if it was fun.

In the four years I have lived here (foreclosed house) I still do not have heat but as certain as the day is long I absolutely have air conditioning, you can always put cloths on when cold but can not take enough off enough to be cool. I moved here from Wisconsin for 1/4 the taxes and twice the growing season - self sufficiency at its best.
