I feel your pain. Would rather take an ass whipping than move. It's not as annoying and doesn't hurt as long.

I feel your pain PP. I just sold out last may and moved to the mountains of eastern ky and what a hassle it has been. I just got the last of all of our furniture and boxed up watt knots out of storage so we can go thru them and see what to keep and what to get rid of. Good luck and dont hurt the back

We have almost completed the deal on a new farm 10 miles from where we are now.
Keeping this place - one day I will rent or sell this house/shop/barn.

The "new" home place is much nicer and newer, by like a 115 years.

Thank the Lord I don't have to be in a rush and will move over about 6 months
When I start moving, after the house hold - I will move a load when I feel like it.

I figure about 30 to 40 pickup and 24 foot goose neck trailer loads to move the
shop and accumulated "treasures"

Anyone want to come help?

Just unhooked the trailer for the last time this move. Pulled an all nighter well I made it to 6 am and crashed for an hour then went back at it. Made three 20 foot trailer loads in about 30 hours. I'm getting to old for shit. I use to could do this all night crap. Not any more.

Now for the really fun part. Putting this crap away. But I'm wore the f out. My legs feel like someone tied them in knots. And my feet ate throbbing. I think its snack time then nap time.

I HATE moving. One of the most disruptive, inefficient and stressful things you can do.
Be safe.
Be discreet.
And have fun.

The guys have been moving a load about every 3 days, for 2 weeks.
They loaded a goose neck trailer, 8 feet wide, 24 feet long and 3 feet high
with nothing but metal. Then tossed the storage rack on top.

Moving sucks - but it is better with a backhoe and farm tractor with a loader

Wifey has been loading her SUV with a load of stuff, drives to the new place, backs up to the door,
jumps into whatever rig is setting there and comes home. The next day she unloads and the third day
she puts it all away and then starts all over.

Pretty good deal for me - all I have to do is make sure there is something to drive setting there for her...

Ok my last post said I did the last load on the 9th of April. Here it is the 12th of may and that trailer is still not unloaded. And we are still unpacking what's in the house. Well I've been building stuff. And fixing things. I'm trying to get the basement organized and set up. So we have space to put all the extra crap. So it ain't just sued down here. But this also includes the brew/distill room and ferment/ storage room and my shop area.

Yep I really hope this is the last move for me.

Nice barn and shop combo, wired and plumbed so I don't have to do that part.
House is freshly painted inside and out - they spend $10,000 having it done
hoping to raise the selling price, and then accepted our offer that was 25%
below what it appraised for, 30% below the asking price.
I just have to do some fencing, about 2 miles or so, put in the underground
system for the yard and build a 150 ton hay shed before fall.

Oh and finish moving all my shit!

Grand total of 47 loads of shit moved and the old place looks the same :wtf:

Wifey has moved about 15 loads into the house and we now have plenty of everything (pots, pans, dishes) to live in either
place. I think she is planning the furniture moving this weekend. Lord I hope the hay is ready to cut and I can
go hide in a hay field . . .

You've been moving for two months! You must be as old as dirt... 8)
Also, I'm sure we all broke out our tiny violins when we saw you made your hands do all the work for ya! ;)
When I was in school I had about the smallest bed Nissan pu you can buy. Of course everybody always thought of me and my "truck" when they moved. And college flakes move A LOT! Hope you at least paid your guys in the same currency...beer!

Course that two mile fence line doesn't sound like much fun.
Contemplating a move to New Zealand but if I do I'm just gonna leave all my crap and sublet to a relative or friend!
