does someone know how to seal and glue glass-copper or glass-brass?
it should be alc. proof and not dissolve.
i have a alc.-meter without the weight section,(broken of) and i want to use a copper or brass cap as a weight.
i dont want to save money, just try to repair it for fun.
i have heard of water-glass,would that do the trick?

if you don't want to do time,
don't do a crime!
and as a finishing touch,
god created the dutch.

If it works it should be safe enough if it's properly cured and rinsed.="dutch@home"

Sodium silicate (water glass) breaks down to silica and sodium carbonate when exposed to carbon dioxide in the air.

Probably a long dead thread but I am also interested in this and have dug up a few copper to pyrex seal articles

You can use a no hub coupling. Only pull the rubber out and replace it with two layers of cork, so the seems are opposing. I've done a couple of glass pipe connections this way....Won't work for what your doing, but it works on a larger scale...
thinking inside the box is for squares....

My interest is in development of an internal sensor tree using a small section of Pyrex in between the main body of the tree and the actual sensor. This is to provide some thermal isolation as well as a window an led could be mounted in for lighting the plate.
