What is your favorite classic car or truck?

Post by W Pappy »

I would have to say my all time favorite car would be the 1951 Merc with a chopped top of course. :twisted:The only car I ever had was back in school 72 Nova SS with a 350.

I've always had a love affair with the 1973 F-100. My grandfather had one, that he bought in 1976. I ended up getting it in about 2002. By that time, the brutal NE Ohio winters had taken its toll. Didn't make my love it any less, though. I cruised it like it was cherry. Working 8 track player, in the head liner, am only radio, 302 2 barrel, long bed. My friends used to love going to Goodwill, to find me 8 tracks. One day, I would like to get another. The picture attached, of course, wasn't his, but it was the same color.

Good choices all. 1987 Lamborghini Contach would be what my fairy godmother would bring. 60's Shelby 427 Cobra if I was paying the bills.

Had a 54 Ford F100 and a 56 Ford F100 but I still have dreams about the 62 skylark convertable that I lost in an major fender bender.

Chevy, as a rule, put 302's in cars and 307's in trucks because of the differences in bore:stroke ratio... The 302's wound up quicker while the 307's were built for torque... This has been a similarly common practice across the US automotive industry... I used to know all of the bore:stroke ratios as well as virtually every engine spec back in my muscle car days when I worked in dealerships...

Remember tbe Rambler from AMC?
The Ambassador was very much the ugliest car ever.

There were lots of ugly ones that were not quite as ugly with big powerful V8s

The Maverick was a joke of a car till ya drove one with that V8.

I guess my second favorite is the 1949 Chevy pickup setting in my garage, but my all time favorite is the 1969 chevelle supersport, 396 4 speed. It's one of the cars I had in high school. I'll get ya a pic of the truck tomorrow I the daylight. Please don't tell googe and the Australians that I had a ford lol.
