Back yard bar build

Post by bellybuster »

While I'm waiting for parts for my brewery rebuild I needed something to keep me busy.
Knocked out a frame for a new backyard bar. My poor old tiki bar is sagging badly.
7' long, will have double door cabinets under. Considering doing one side insulated and refridgerated but not sure on that

Been thinking along those lines for a replacement for mine. I intend to install electrical inside and out and a little sink with a small refrigerator on one side. I'd put a few diagonal braces on the frame, along with a center nailing brace on the long side. Thanks for the boost.

If you plan on covering it with plywood you shouldn't need diagonal bracing.

Definitely need a cooler or a fridge installed or an ice dispenser!

nice 700g!!! have I seen that bar on a plans site??
great use of otherwise wasted space under the stairs.

I got more work done yesterday, going for sheet goods today will post more pics later.
I was going to refrigerate one entire side but don't think it's worth the expense when I can just put a mini fridge right in there.

Yeah I did buy the rail premade, didn't want to mess with making my own. I ordered it online somewhere. I didn't build it from any plans, just kinda wondered through Lowes and this is eventually what I ended up with.

The bar rail is really expensive here in Canada, lots of great sites State side for it. I'll try my hand at making it first and see what happens. Kinda falls in nicely with the recycle quest.
A co worker lives in New York and our work season is starting soon, if need be he can bring some up for me.

On that not I got a bunch of left over T&G bead pine, looks great so far.

thanks guys, working on the bar top today. I have to make it removable to lighten the weight. We'll be using this for my Nieces wedding (outdoors) and it needs to travel to a different location.

Of course my calculations for the bead board left me 2 pieces shy...hohum
