Ice crystal formation

I put a jar of AG white dog in the freezer yesterday to cool off. Got it out tonight and it had these cool little crystal formations on top of the ice. I thought it looked cool and wondered if anyone had this happen to them.

? A jar of whitedog that formed ice on top? What ABV was it? It shouldn't freeze at all.

I'm not sure what proof it was actually the Mrs had watered it down a bit. I just thought the little formations were cool, kinda like stalagmites in a cave.

I have had 60 proof schnapps that didn't freeze in the freezer. I know at 80 proof it won't must have been really watered down.

What's cooler I chipped the top open and there's a pocket inside that is like pure alcohol. We use RO water from the RO sink system, it must have separated out in the freezer.

stole this chart off the net, dont know the truth of it, i recall a bottle of 40% still being thick liquid at -35C out snowmobiling when i was a kid.

That's pretty neat, it was diluted quite a bit. I've got some 50 proof in the freezer with cherry essence that's frozen solid. Sprite, some white, and a bit of the cherry makes a damn fine drink in this heat. The cool crystals on top of the ice was what I thought was neat.
