An Apology

Post by bearriver »

This last past few weeks my behavior has been inexcusable. I have broken 2 rules we live by, used offensive language, insulted members, and generally made a fool of myself. Don't know what the heck has gotten into me...

I belong in read only status for a good chunk of time, and that is where I'm putting myself to think about the disruptions I have made all over these boards that I love so much. PM's (except from the admins) will also be put on hold until I can address my uncouth behaviors.

To everyone here, I am deeply sorry for dragging your forum through the mud.

This is what happens when a thread starts going south, several members jump in and multiple people to blame here. I thought several times about locking the thread but sensoring something is just something I want to be a last resort. I will say you are not the only one at fault but you have made a nice apology.

Bear, now that you know, you know! Type it to get it out, then erase and start over, or dont. Hitting send is too easy, resistance shows maturity! We have all been guilty to some degree.

Thank you all, but this is regarding multiple threads as some of you are aware. My filter has been non-existent. I have once again ashamed myself and this forum. Until I can come to grips with that, I'll have to quit posting if only to try and better myself.

This isn't my first apology... At some point my participation became unfettered disruption, which is where I am at today. %100 of the blame falls on me for my actions. I don't even know where to start fixing this problem within myself, or express how ashamed I am of it.

This forum deserves better from me. It will receive better from me no sooner then when I am capable of delivering it.

Peace Bro.

what stressors are spilling into your hobby? when i've written a regretted word or two it's usually because of the outside getting in. works a bitch, got a speeding ticket on the way home, wife finds it... before theres any dinner to be had... and another clown is joining up with a pressure cooker and wants to know when to add the turbo yeast - before or after the sugar?

Thats what you get when you poke a bear :P I know youre advice helped me alot...but do what you gotta do. I curse like a sailor when Im with my friends. Thats why theyre my friends.

Hobbies are supposed to be a distraction from the real world, not something that makes the bear go RAWRRRRR.

I personally love this community, its where I come when I need to escape the real world, a good laugh and when my friends are being assholes. Hence the reason I've been on here alot lately.

If it helps, we're all human, and we screw up every now and again. Such is life. But apologizing when needed says ALOT about a persons character, even though it may not be needed.

Now I have to spend time searching to figure out why the apology was needed.

Sometimes an apology is in order to defend ones self worth. If you have felt that you have gone out of character and a simple unprovoked apology is what it takes to clear your conscious then I believe equal forgiveness is due. "Forgive, son; men are men; they needs must err".
During U.S. prohibition, Texada Island was a supply point for illegal alcohol into the United States, with a famous illegal distillery operating on the east shore. The remains of the hooch boiler can be seen on the beach.

Lessee if I've got this right...

Member in good standing sounds off amongst a bunch of renegade shiners and thinks some of us have been insulted or offended and for his penance enters a self-imposed nunnery until he has repented and been properly flagellated. Close?

Bear, I wish I would have seen the thread so I could ridicule you properly, but unfortunately I missed it.

I believe that being an honorable man means you should right your wrongs, apologize when you feel you need to. At this point in my life, my kids will do things that anger me, after pondering it for a while, I often realize that I did the same thing to my parents, I immediately call and apologize to my father. But he usually just laughs a good belly laugh , knowing that I have finally figured it out. Finally grown up.

Fix your transgressions and get back to it, you are too valuable a member to be put in time out. Think about the void left with Woodshed under the weather. Not good. Repair it, get back to work!

I owe Karma an apology tonite. I've had some negative thoughts.
we had some guests for dinner, and this sweet young lady, looking across a bountiful spread of strawberries, blueberries and grapes the wife had put out for snakkies says: (and i shit you not)
"Are these from your farm?"
i sez: "pardon"?
she repeats "Are these from your farm?"
i, honest to god...did not know what to say. fumbling a bit i countered with, "no, they are from my wife."

it's January in Northern Canada. we got no leaves on friggin trees.

i felt like an idiot not being able to offer a better explanation.

bless her heart, sweetest young thing i've enjoyed the company of in a long while.

Bear--forget about it. God knows I've been my share of offensive, and will be in the future. We're all big boys. Let's all drown it in a glass of the best and sing Old Lange Sine or some shit.

Now--are we talking Cat-o-nine-tails here or bullwhips? Cuz cats are kinda wimpy.
