Damantelopes (Speedgoats) ain't fit to eat far as I am concerned. Go out and eat a piece of sagebrush.
I see dozens of them every year when i'm out West shootin Prairie dogs. Montana this summer they came to the camp every day just like a bunch of tame goats.

Now those wild hawgs are another matter. We don't have them where I live yet and don't want any of them...I seen what they tear up. But if they get here I will just have another set of targets. Chootem.

The main thing is get it skinned as soon as possible so it can cool just like deer and elk. Otherwise it might taste pretty gamey. Same thing with range fed domestic cattle. I don't know about antelope nuts but domestic steer's nuts are considered rocky mountain oysters. :D

I caponized the cocks from a straight run when I bought chickens. Its all about the meat. Stands to reason that any critter born for the freezer should be cut.

No, I was thinking of when you do it when they're alive. Obviously not going to happen with a wild boar. I know a lot of people only raise gelts/sows to eat, but I'm surprised that castrating them after they're dead should be a priority. I would've thought the damge had already been done.

There were pigs like mangalitsas here, called Lincoln curly coat. I think that the mangalitsa has Lincoln curly lines crossed into it. Both lard pigs.
Pretty much everybody around here keeps Gloucester Old Spot.

You know that 50% of the pork you buy at the shop had its knackers removed while it was still alive, right? (The other 50% being female.)
