When you said he would fire that thing up this week, I didn't realize you meant stuffing it the trunk of his less noticeable car :shifty:

No I don't know any of em ...Ifn I knew em, I'd have em runnin likker 24/7 already ...
Heck, at the speed they're moving, they all gonna be lucky to get a couple gallons run ..
I'll admit, I've been catchn 2-week previews, shows ya how much I like the show ...
Ya want to believe its on the up and up, but it it can't be ...Ain't nobody gonna drag and tote large stills all over God's creation, when all ya need is a barn or garage.
Just when ya think you're done with em, they suck ya rite back in. :D

It might surprise some of you, but I have seen Commercial Distillers do the same thing. Not jugs, but the big plastic shipping containers with a wire cage around them. I kid you not.

GNS is typically shipped in FDA approved HDPE IBC totes (the 'wire cage containers' you mentioned).

Plus if they temper down to 40% or so you probably don't have to worry much about your plastic jug breaking down and deteriorating ...Not hangn on to em very long so it don't matter ...Think about doin everything the cheapest way is the only way it Could be done ..Folks probably know to get it outa them jugs asap, ifn your likker to high proof, you be drinkn that jug ..Line me out goose ifn I'm wrong with my 2¢.

Numerous 57L kegs, some propane, one 220v electric with stilldragon controller. Keggle for all-Grain, two pot still tops for whisky, a 3" reflux with deflag for vodka. Coming up, a 4" perf plate column. Life is short, make whisky and drag race!

Ole boys soldered a hook inside cap to hang a steeping bag in boiler charge for flavor infusion ...Looked workable, eliminates any scorched solids.
Put anything you want in it I rectum ..Would be a neat boiler or stillhead option.

Other guy has two boilers runnin simultaneous as one with lyne arm connected to cape of second boiler, then from second boiler to thumper.

Thanks for that, moon.
I have two stills, less than 20 litres and less than 16 litres, say. Pretty small, so I was thinking of somehow running both into a thumper at the same time...
Geoff
P.S. With a pre-heater like in the old alembics, one day. Simple enough and greatly increased efficiency and throughput (which I need, with the little stills) and savings in fuel. G.

I love that show. Riding the Coq on my harley is a bucket list item. In the summer of course. 8-)
#5 is like any interstate. if you want some motorcycling heaven take #3 from pincher creek alberta to hope BC. Then head north up #1 and west on 99. take a couple of days...too much to see and it's a workout. the yellow and black shatter signs that say "25kph" mean 25kph, the rest at your own risk but BC RCMP have vehicle siezing laws for "excessive" speed at their leisure, 40kph over will lose your ride.
I've driven that route a few times, love the Hope Princeton part! Silikamem valley is amazing. I try not to drive too fast..

Got to admit SOME of it is entertaining.
Like most programs I have to record it so I can fast forward through the commercials and the "slop left in the can" shall we say?
