What's in a name? Gin Basket!

Little or nothing to do with distillation.

What's in a name? Gin Basket!

Post by Bushman »

I realize that gin is probably the biggest use for vapor infused spirits but a lot of other botanicals can be used to make other spirits like absinthe using a gin basket thus I think a vapor basket might be a better suited term. Sunday morning with nothing better to do!

I bet you could do a lot of different things.

Gin and Absent as you mentioned.

But I also think you could do something like tripple sec.

Infuse your spices for apple pie..

lemoncello

Even a spiced rum

I have also been thinking what if you put cut up fruit in one so the distilate goes through the fruit? Maybe it would pickup the apple smell and tast.. so coudl make an apple whiskey..

So many possibilities I can see.. Whats it hurt to experiment.. if you don'tlike something can always recycle it.

And that is why I think vapor or infusion basket is a more accurate term.
