Harris Stay Clean Liquid Flux
I had been dragging my feet for way too long. I finally bought a 32 ounce bottle of Stay Clean Flux from Welding Supply for $8.99 plus $10.95 shipping. That was the best use of $20.00 I have made in quite a while. I really don't know why I waited so damned long. I'm looking forward to tackling some of the construction projects that I have been putting off.
Anybody else out there thinking about getting some of this flux should just get it done. You will be amazed at how easy it makes soldering things together.

I couldn't agree more! I've used it for stainless to stainless, brass to stainless, copper to either, it's the best stuff I've ever used. I would've saved so much on pre-welded parts if I'd known about this stuff.

It’s great stuff! Got me some from the local welding supply shop.

Agreed with all. It is good stuff. I have a TIG welder and I still put things together this way. When I am good enough with TIG that may change, but it hasn't so far...

+1
After reading of all the builders here recommending Harris products I figured I couldn't go wrong. I am also glad I chose the liquid over the paste. Cleans up real good.

Thanks, RB!
For any 'o you guys looking to build a parrot, this one cost me $5. I had the 1/2", soft 3/8" and the 2" coupling along with Harris 8 solder and flux on hand. The coupling got annealed and flattened to make the base. I picked up a 20" piece of the 1" copper, the elbow and both reducers from the scrap yard for $7, but he knocked $2 off for a sample of my upcoming UJSSM batch.

I can't believe how easy this was.
I picked up the bowl at St. Vinney's for less than $1.00 and I had the 1 1/2 inch tubing waiting to be used for something. Not nearly as pretty as that parrot
