Lost my distilling buddy

Post by Hambone »

I lost my chihuahua buddy, Speck, today. She went in her sleep, like I hope to someday. She'd always hang with me in the shed while I was working...

I'm very sorry to hear that Hambone. I know how that feels. I too lost a friend/dog that I loved dearly. It's been a few years since his passing, and I still miss him very much.

As I tip one back later today, I'll toast to Speck and to my beloved Barron. Cheers

Thanks, buddy. She was a dog my wife rescued that I didn't even want, at the time. But she will be missed. Sometimes I don't even know why I keep pets...

I have always believed that canines were good people that came in a dog suit. Trustworthy, hard-working, loyal.

Condolences.

Sorry Ham. I lost my best friend quite a while back and am still not over it. I always said that if I could have taught her to brush her teeth I would have married her.

+1

I've probably had 20 different dogs - my Dad would take them in to foster.
And I've had my share as an adult.

When friends dogs died, I'd tell them, "oh that's too bad" - and I meant it.

Then several years ago I got MY DOG.
His puppy picture is my Avatar.

He would insist on riding everywhere with me. Weather permitting, he was happy sitting in the car, sometimes for more than an hour during oncologists visits. He got me through chemo, and I couldn't do anything when cancer got him a few years ago.

I cried like a baby when I had to put him down. His ashes are sitting right next to my Mom's.

That's just to say my perspective got a major adjustment.
I am TRULY sorry for your loss.

Sorry man, I understand your pain. Dogs don't live nearly as long as we wish, but they give us love more than we could ever expect.

Yup. I really want to say something, but I just don't have the words right now. I'm just going to sit on the porch for a while with my dogz and raise a glass.

Sorry to hear this Hambone. Lost my girl "Shine" a few years ago, but I jumped right in and got another puppy.

"Wire" just turned two years old this month and is my best buddy, constantly following me around watching me work.
