Hurricanes

Post by Bushman »

Looks like we have some hurricanes that will make landfall this weekend. Hope all members on the forum that might be effected will stay safe. If you have to go to safe buildings I hope you are able to Safe distance from others.

I'm in Corpus Christi, about 400yds from the water. We are getting strong winds and medium rain. Not a total disaster. I've hunted in worse.

We have a crew deployed up to Houston doing nothing, crews from Houston and NOLA are coming in this afternoon, I don't think that they'll get much business though.

Stay safe, I had a lunch shrimp wrapped in bacon at restaurant on the waterfront in Corpus Christi. Fun watching the fisherman come into the dock for lunch as their boats were rigged differently than ours in the PNW.

Unfortunately giving this thread a bump.
Looking like Hurricane Ida is the real deal and I know we have members in harms way.
I just got a text from a friend here. I don't know why his sister didn't get out.
Saying prayers for everyone.
From Lisa (my sister):

Not sure how long we can text but
No landline
No internet
No cable
No power in all of Orleans Parish due to "catastrophic infrastructure damage"
Generator flickering.
Eye is 29 miles W Cat 4.
We have local TV on our antenna rig upstairs. Bad stuff.
This is going to be a long recovery.
