Ive almost got all the parts and pieces to start my still build. Im using the Auberins PID and was wondering if anyone has used this one and if you did, did you use the thermocouple for temp control or something else. Thanks for any and all input. Great site! I have learned an immense amount!

I thought about it but ended up buying Auber's SSVR instead with the amperage readout. I have PID's on my home brew setup but I felt that level of automation for the still was largely not necessary because I'm not using temperatures as a definite indicator of process steps.

It looks like it would work as advertised IF:
1. You had a wash that was always the same and you had run it many times in the same still so you knew exactly how it would behave AND
2. You were satisfied with making cuts by temperature.
IMHO that's no way to make good liquor. I wouldn't use it.

Distilling at 110f and 75 torr.
