New Propane Jet Burner

Post by Copperpot85 »

I bought a new 88,000 btu burner. It is a jet type burner. It heats my 25 gallon still. I am very happy with it. It cut my time to get everything heated to temp I'm half. I can have flow in an hour. It is a little noise, but it's worth it to me. Hope this may help someone who may be in the Market for one.

How low will it run? Can you turn it down enough to get a 2-3 drip if needed?
Thats more important to me than heat up time. You can raise up the keg if
you need to with Iron.
For mashing, I found a 8 inch by 1/2 inch, round steel plate to put under the pot.
helpful preventing burning the corn.

All kinds of trick out there I guess, whatever works.

Yes it can be cut down. To almost a very small flame. I have a 25 gallon copper pot. I had a 35,000 btu burner before and it took 2 to 2/12 hours to get a drip and another 2 hours to finish 1 run through. It has been one of my best new addition so far. And for 40.00 at my local academy sports. The only downside is its pretty noisy.
