i have a natural gas log lighter http://www.amazon.com/Canterbury-Enterp ... B00176FE6Q

and i have a propane regulator off of a bbq pit.

think it will work?

The propane regulator will be a higher pressure than the log fixture wants to be at. While it will light, the 'holes" in the log lighter will be too large.

But! Adding a proper jet to the BBQ regulator should be easy. There are post that tell you what size hole to drill in a brass pipe cap to make a proper jet.

What about a jet from a flamecutter or the copperguide from a MIG welder ..? (the tip where the wire exits)

Doesn't need to be that expensive...a simple 1/16" hole drilled in something copper or brass will work.

#57 drill is .043 inches or ~1.1mm
