I built this for chilling wort during brewing but I might try using it as a worm as well when running a pot still. 25 feet of 1/2" seamless stainless inside a 3/4" copper shell. It should be quite efficient for water use if I use it that way. Vapour speed might be a bit high until it condenses in a 1/2" tube.
Figured you guys who work with copper might like to see this. For scale, it's sitting on a 24" wide work table and measures about 26" inner diameter.

Re: Counter-flow chiller
why the joints in the copper?
otherwise, cool idea! I've been wanting to buy/build a counterflow for my home brewing and could be re-purposed for my distilling and this looks right up my ally!

If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Then quit. There’s no point in being a damn fool about it.
