What gauge stainless should I use??

In our view 30 gallons and under is considered hobby size. Do not bring anything larger than this to our site.

What gauge stainless should I use??

Post by Guerilla Distillah »

Hey there engineers, I wish to have a jacket fabricated to go around my keg boiler for a Bain Marie set up. What gauge stainless should I use to make this outter "pot?" And how large should the gap between vessels be?

Thanks

Anything thinner than 16 gage is more difficult to weld.
And 14 gage is to thick to work by hand
If your having the rig built, find someone who has a roller so they can do a neat clean job.
With 12 or 14 gage.

A danger you may not have thought of
Make sure a leak can't happen, that will dump water into the heat transfer fluid.
A steam explosion with boiling oil sound scary
