Just noticed that one of our members is using and recommending drywall mixers...
they are plated with cadmium which is extremely danger for health.
DO NOT USE them. Do your research on cadmium.
Better way is make similar to letter b loop from stainless rod or 3/8 tubing is safer.

Re: Drywall mixers coated with cadmium
While cadmium poisoning is serious, seeing as we're using them in products to be distilled, this isn't an issue as it will not be transmitted up with vapor. That being said they do sell (and I use) a ss version for a little more money. I figured it was just better to stick with ss as much as possible.
But as suggested to stir a mash or to grind apples for brandy there should be no issue.

Mine are all aluminum blades with the shaft coated in black oxide coating. I did strip the coating off.

I would recommend taking the time and going on Amazon and buying a stainless mud mixer. I paid a good price for one which I've beaten up mixing some starchy muds. It has taken the abuse and it very well made. My drill will probably go before it does. Also try mixer attachements from commercial mixers

This is the one I got, seems to work best with gelling corn and rice.
