Kick My Ass

Post by frost021 »

Ok I'm kicking my ass yes other things in Life have kept me busy but still no excuse!! I've seen numerous times questions about Blue distillate.over the years ..Although no one admits to it ...I've left low wines a little to long sitting on the plates,I'm running a flute but regards no matter what type of system your running it will do the same... should be put out there ...Lesson Learned!!! upon cleaning for the next run which I always do noticed some blues on the copper grrrr...now to get cleaning ,Just glad I do a cleaning before each run and check everything over...

Don't get too excited, there, worm. It could get unpopular again just as fast.
Distilling at 110f and 75 torr.

I'm not sure what you mean by cleaning every run. I think of cleaning as scrubbing by hand followed by a vinegar/ water run followed by a water run then a sacrificial run. I only clean if I find a problem, doing too much cleaning can remove the protective patina resulting in corrosion and blue distillate.

I may have worded that wrong as not really a cleaning as per scrubbing ect...I usually just check everything over and give it a rinse with water...and make sure all the gaskets are still in good order...and everything is tight before charging..that being said I did do a though cleaning a few runs back...I guess a few lessons learned though don't leave low wines for too long on the plates and shouldn't have done that cleaning ..the ol saying goes not broke don't try and fix it

I didn't realize I was cussing but will be mindful and didn't want to offend anyone
Thanks for the Replys

Leaving wet plates is a good way to have to redo cleaning runs for sure, I make sure I don't leave mine wet if I can help it.
