I created this forum so we have a place to discuss the wiki and some coherence of standards.

I get the feeling I'm the only one interested in this at the moment, but right now I am recreating these pages:

Many of them allow "View Source" which makes recreating them a simple matter of cut/paste into the new wiki.

I think that ultimately I'd like to replace the homedistiller home page with the wiki. The home page is showing its age and is very difficult to edit.

EDIT: If you find a page or pages which don't allow "View Source", post them in this thread and I'll take care of them.

Working on it. Daiquiri is a long entry... oh how I wish it had source.

Sometimes I can find it with different URL's in the wayback. Our path names were very inconsistent for a while so some I can find under

Still others are under mediawiki_1_6_8 or some nonsense.

And some don't exist so I recreate by hand.

appreciate your efforts UJ. I don't have much time left for computer activities after the modding around the forum to contribute on the wiki. I'm sure more will step up as they see the posts.

Almost have all the cocktails A-H restored. Not exactly fun.

Are there specific areas of the old wiki that you would like to be restored/updated first? Also, coming from a software development background, how do you want to coordinate who does what? Having a bunch of independent editors without direction is much like herding cats.

I might suggest that your primary function would be to coordinate the various editors tasks.

I know that this sounds like what you would do in the real world but IMHO it might be what it takes to be successful.

Trying to restore the content as much as possible at the moment, perfect or not. But every little bit helps. I got tired of changing/marking up the wine recipes so I just cut/pasted them and will gussy them up later.

I've been linking both sweet and dry vermouth to the (not yet created) vermouth page.

Should we create separate pages for sweet and dry? Or just have one vermouth page which explains both?

Nice! I started working on the bibliography/book and publications yesterday. That section will need some help done the road.
