Input requested: Which Wiki Front page do you like best?

Fellow HD'ers,

Thanks to Uncle Jesse, the Wiki is back. Uncle Jesse has done a ton of work to get it working and then even more work (I think he's over 4000 updates) to fill the pages. If you haven't yet, thank him.

As part of the new Wiki, we would like your input on the Wiki homepage. The three options are above. These aren't necessarily finished nor are they static, we can change them at any time. In fact we would love your input so that we can make them better. Pick the page you like the best and then post a reply with any suggestions you have for us. We will do our best to make updates. If you don't like those three options tell us that too. We're looking for direction. We want to make sure it's easy to understand, useful, and informative.

And if you haven't explored the Wiki take the opportunity now. Click "Random Page" a couple times and see where it leads you. Look a couple things up. Hey, maybe even sign up as an editor and update or add some entries!

Option 1: On the one hand it's nice short. But I don't like the selection. Why mentioning denaturing and the commercial uses of ethanol beyond the beverage industry? Why mentioning that you wouldn't want to drink a distillers version of a beer?

Option 2: Waste of screen space.

Option 3: This is perfect. Also more lines/spacers wouldn't damage it I think. But generally I don't know if the Main Page should offer so much information.

The first one looked like an automatically generated page.

Second was a waste of design time.

Third one was perfect, maybe carve out a smal space for beer, wine and sake.

Seems most folks prefer #3 but I want to wait for more votes to be sure, since the plan is to replace the main home page with this in the near future.

I voted long ago, but I still think#2 is way more visually appealing. #3 reminds me of an outline, #2 looks like a finished project.

What's with all the annoying dots on #3?

Ah, that looks much better. Still like the boxed borders of the categories in 2, but that's just the excel spread sheet guru part of me

I have never edited a single thing on wiki, and would really be more amiss to try and edit things than not. This is probably why I have not said much on it... if you ain't lifting the axe, don't tell another man how to swing it. Uncle Jesse was pulling hard to get some input on this, so I just had to say something.

Sometime go to a page and click "edit" and you will see how it's formatted. It is really easy.
