You won't get to be a master distiller using essences. Many of us including myself started with what the brewshops like to sell because they are not interested in proper mashing and distillation, they are only interested in selling stuff for bigger profits.
Producing a good spirit takes time.
Time to ferment properly
Time to distill
Time to oak and age properly
Essences are just a shortcut and provide big profits for the brewshops.
If thats what you like carry on using essences, but if you want something better, we are here to help and guide you in that direction.

Re: need to know how to make whiskey essences
Well said, OD.
knnlalonde. The 'essences' you buy in the stilling shops are a poor substitute for the real thing. Nobody here (or any commercial distillers) make their product using 'whisky essence', and I don't think anybody here knows how these essences are made. They just make proper whisky first up. That is the real 'essence' of whisky. Folk here look down on those commercial essences because they are nowhere near as good as the real thing (though one or two are okay, I have tried a rum essence that was quite drinkable).
Plenty of genuine whisky style recipes here, and plenty of help if you want to go down that path. Look in the Tried & True section.
I think this thread has run its course.

Try UJSSM for a bourbon style no cook recipe,
or use barley instead of corn for whisky.
That should get you started.

Jesus knn, have another look at the advice you've been given along with a bit of funning with you. Why one even want to make essence is beyond me. I suspect that you just maybe a troll. Sorry to be so blunt. Now you can put me in the unfriendly bastards list too, assuming I'm not there already.
