Why not bake it then? Put it in the oven and turn it up slowly until its the max temp the oven will go, and then chuck it into a really hot grill. That way the part will be evenly heated and not likely to crack.

We had some all purpose kick ass degreasing solution at work. I blocked off one end, filled her up, let sit for 2 days. Then blasted out with a pressure washer. This thing is clean enough to eat out of, no doubt in my simple little mind.

So now whats next?

Do you have a plan to modify for a more custom aesthetic ?

Or will you work with the exsisting configuration?

Thats the beauty of this thing, It triclamps to a 2" flange like a champ. Im gonna leave it pretty much as is. Just have to tap the coolant input/output to accept a 3/8 pipe thread. Then, triclamp the "T" on the bottom. I will post pics. I have a nice head for spirit runs, But I can only run about 45% power on stripping runs with my 5500w element. So it will be a stripping head, and I expect to be able to run my element at 100% with this thing.

Here is what I have come up with. The cap at the bottom will have a fitting tapped into it for the discharge. There wont be a reflux line cause I will use this collumn for stripping. I have a real nice head for spirit runs. Just thinking I will be able to run real fast/hard strip runs with this thing. I have 1/2 pipe fittings tapped in for water input/output. just need to make an adapter to adapt the 1.5" T to my 3" collumn

You dont know how bad i want to mount this thing. I had to strip 50 gals with my old head last weekend. Figured I would get it done while I could.... Momma could pop any day  . I still need to get a couple pieces and make a trip to the welding shop before she gets lift off.

well here is my "truck part still" as LW calls it. the copper part is 2" copper pipe that i worked a couple easy triclamp flanges on each end. there will be a liquid take off on the bottom of the stainless T. no reflux. I made this rig primarily for fast stripping runs due to the bad ass condenser that the egr cooler makes. I think it will double nicely as a pot still. we will see. I am set to do a cleaning run this weekend.

Alright guys, check this out. This is a true shotgun condenser. I got this baby fair and square with a customer, no foolin around. I said I wouldnt post it till i got it clean, but couldnt wait. This girl is about 18" long and has 42 3/16 tubes running the length. made of stainless steel, 2" triclamp fits on the one end. Im gonna cut the other end off, make it look better. Is this one better than the square one i posted earlier? I dont know, but I do know it looks better, and will clean better. I have 2 of these, one is blown, so if I cant fix it, i will disect it for all to see..... when I get some damn time.

well, for you guys runnin 3"+ collumns you would have to adapt down to 2" triclamp. Dont know if this would affect anything. The outlet is a 2 bolt flange with about a 1 1/2 hole coming out at a 90 degree angle. I know it would be more than enough cooling. Just wondering what kind of flow you would need for a large diameter (4") plate collumn. I think it would work, just look kinda goofy.

Oh, LW.... It is pronounced De-flem-ator ... (or so Ive heard)

Keep it real. 8)

What??? are you serious?

No wonder my deflemerdater won't work.

So here is what she does. Hopefully you can help me figger out the problem.

By fiddling with the cooling valve adjustment,,,,,,,it will either go into a 100% reflux mode and allow for a bit of vapor stacking prior to take off.....And ultimately fill my plates (thumpers) with what appears to be high proof alcohol.... Or by adjusting back the other direction It will offer a RR of my choosing......Is this bad? and if so,,.how can I fix this?

Know what? I'm just gonna live with it since I can't get any body to help me figger out how to get my deflagergater to only partially condense vapor.

Guess I'll have to settle for 100% fully variable.
Guess I'll need to sharpen up on my pronouncimification too.

Thanks any way.
