Hello, from Ontario, Canada
Hello all!
Thanks for adding me! I'm from the small town of Acton, Ontario... Just outside Toronto. I've always enjoyed whiskies, moonshine, bourbon and rye, and after a hockey injury, I'm looking to reduce my playing time... But still need a hobby to keep myself busy. Hence this!
I'm looking to start small and learn. Any and all help is much appreciated! I was thinking of converting a beer keg into a electric whiskey still... But budget is always an issue as I still gotta pay the mortgage and bill and save for a wedding! Could someone please direct me to a good how to vid or DIY video for this? Like I said earlier I'm on a tight budget, so I'm looking to build this myself. Being in Canada, I know I can get most things at are also located in the US from my local hardware store or plumbers or even Home depot! So lemme know what'cha got! Thank you all in advance for your time!
Cheers,
Derek

Welcome Templar
Many things you need are available at home depot but you'll quickly find there are quite a few which are not. More annoying, those very same items are available at most Home depots in the US. Sigh.
A keg makes a good boiler, and its really a good size for this hobby. Much smaller and you end up having to do many runes for a drinkable volume.
Working on a budget shouldn't be too much a of stretch, if you can afford hockey equipment you can afford this.
Everything you could ever want to know is here at HD forum, but not in video form, so you'll have a lot of reading to do. Be sure to use the Google search function on the top bar and you'll find what you need. Lotta resources around the GTA.

Welcome from a fellow Canadian from northern Ontario..
The quickest way to learn here is to use the "HD Google Search" at the top of the page, when it open, just provide a space after the org/forum and type in whatever your're searching for, and click the search icon.. this method will provide you with all the answers to questions that will become part of the process of learning to distill..
Enjoy..

Couldn't agree more "search and read" then you will be able to ask a question intelligently, and you will understand the answers given back to you. Most know, there will be many opinions to the answers so be prepared.StillerBoy wrote:Welcome from a fellow Canadian from northern Ontario..
