New here from TX
I am new, I am from Texas. Naturally owning a still in the free state of Texas is illegal without paying special taxes and stuff.... so I am here purely for informational purposes and theory and stuff... because breaking the law is bad...

Welp from the laws I read, you can’t own a still in Texas for either of those reasons... unless I miss read something.
Re: New here from TX
As far as I know here’s what the law says now.
But we are digressing from the welcome page. It’s perfectly legal to own a still, and you can even use it, as long as you’re not making alcohol – so, you can make essential oils without a permit, or perfume, or distilled water.

Texas ABC Sec 103.02 is what I am interpreting. I suck at reading, and I am all for a loophole if someone has one.Bushman wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2020 2:17 pm As far as I know here’s what the law says now.But we are digressing from the welcome page. It’s perfectly legal to own a still, and you can even use it, as long as you’re not making alcohol – so, you can make essential oils without a permit, or perfume, or distilled water.
You are correct though, I digress.
Glad to be here for the sole purpose of knowledge and such... I like making beer, and I like making wine for the wife. Intro done?

Welcome, neighbor . Many, many folks from the State here. And, yes, it’s illegal to possess anything that can be used to distill alcohol w/o a license. We’re workin’ on it.
