Hi,
I am new here and after much reading here I have fabricated some columns. Now I wonder where to put the thermometer pocket?
The stainless column is 60 mm in diameter with 12 mm cooling pipes below the T and an extension above the T for and cooling coil.
On the outlet of the T there is a ½ inch pipe thread fitting but it might be awkward to read a thermometer there…
The other pieces on the picture are a gin basket that I made. I also made an extra long strainer just in case…
The copper column is a 2 inch diameter. It is made out of 3 column pipes of different lengths.
I firstly planned to fit a Bokakob on top but decided to put a cooling coil on top instead because I read that Bokakob are a very slow method.
I saw on Still It that controlled the reflux by moving the cooling coil up or down.
I also made a dephlegmator that can be fitted below the T.
For product condensing I have made to different shot gun coolers and one l Liebig.
