Decoys BOP - Pot/Column Still Resurrection

Post by decoy »

Just dug my old faithfull all Stainless out from the forgotten heap on the farm..
Didnt realise I already had a Tadpole mash already going in it.

Time to bring it back and clean her up and make some modifications I have had planned but never bothered as I had an all copper.
I also have a few new things to add and try, I will post the preogress as I go.

So what I have here is a 100L 26Gal BOP.
I cut a large flange with the inner diameter to suit the pot wall.
I cut the handles of so the pot slides in, it stops on the rolled rim of the pot.
Hindsite regret, should have made the flange width wider so their is more space between the pot and outer skin wall, 2" would have been nice.
The Lid is an old Stainless Steel Swiming pool filter lid that fit the pot and just had to do weld another flange to its base so it maches the pot.
I have 2x 3" Triclova Ferules welded to the top.
The ~4ft column was was from a previous build, at the time I used Dairy Fittings as they where available so I made a 3" Triclova to Dairy adapter.
The condenser is 3/4 copper tube inner with Stainless shell, both ends are 1" Stainless BSP thread.
The top was section for cold finger reflux condenser and vapor take off.

Planned modifications to start:
2" dump drain in pot
10-12" access port in Lid
Powered stirrir on lid
New Column and reflux condenser
Legs
Gas Burner mount and Gas Control
