Foreshots

Foreshots is a term used to describe the very first fraction that comes off of a run. They usually consist of methanol and other compounds which have a lower boiling point than ethanol. Most of these are poisonous, and should be discarded during a run. The general rule is about 100-200mL of foreshots per 20 liters of wash. While these may not kill whoever drinks them if they're blended with the rest of a run, they will create a very intense hangover very quickly.
