Eat at Sam Woo's in Chinatown good food and safe, around the corner is a place you can watch two old ladies make fortune cookies (they are best when hot). Lots to do so take good walking shoes. And don't forget your veggies, don't know how they do it but the salads over there are great.

Kinda processed the same idea, I use a pump and a 15 gal tub and have to start swaping warm water with fresh cool water about half way thru the run. I don't like the idea of restricting the flow out of the radiator flooding and all wonder if it would work just as well if the radiator was in between ...

Time doesn't help ease the pain of losing a family pet. I had to have our Mastiff put down. It came as a total shock, took him to the Vet thought he may have hurt himself (he was completely night blind from PRA) and after Xrays found bone cancer. 4/01/05 RIP His ashes are above the computer, kids st...

How close to the burner were you collecting the distillate? From the pic it appears only a few feet from the flame, a little to close for my comfort  I can't wait to try gas heat myself.

Sounds like you have met my somewhere before

I also forgot to take a reading with my hydrometer to get the intial SG
I assume ( :? very dangerous for me ) that you should take this first
reading before you drop in the yeast. The bubbles would cause an
inacurate reading would they not?

Head space in the fermenter

How much head space is required in the fermenter or is there any rise in the mash. Reason I ask is that my mash has completly filled a 5 gallon carboy with only the neck left for head space.
