Re: anyone know anything about these units?

Re: anyone know anything about these units?

I don't have ready access to a fabricator who is going to weld the lid of the stainless stock pot, to the pot itself... but after that? the copper coil condenser on my little working unit, I could prolly pop right over... or is there some other...

Re: anyone know anything about these units?

Re: cost of carbonation
To ME??? just from physics and chemistry training in HS and university? I wanna remember that the size of a naturally occuring surface bubble is a thing of the surface tension, atmospheric pressure, and density of the liquid, and the speed of the gas coming back out of solution. I VAGUE-ly remember ...

moved the 6.8 gallons of apple juice ferment from the primary fermenting bucket and siphoned it off to the big glass carboy... naturally, heh heh, I got a liter of the stuff "raw" to taste test while the stuff sits a little bit in the carboy. having experimented with a gallon jug of "...

Having bought real equipment, I decided to not risk it, and make a 6+ gallon ferment of the apple wine/cider stuff, and this time "firmly resolve" to rack to the carboy and settle it up some, unlike last time we drank the ferment and called it a success, LMAO SO, I need to have SOME fun......

Re: Newb 1st results...
Well... priced grape juice, 6 gallons... priced apple (in season?) went with that again. Put it somewhere with central heat in the basement, for steady temps. WIll DEFinitely rack into glass carboy and let sit till it clears up. Heck. Left a couple glasses at the "taste testing location" a...

Wanted to try something reaLly easy and basic for my first time out. numerous "grocery store recipes" exist over the net, and i settled on a basic cider recipe everyone has. Gallon Motts 100% apple juice or equivalent, 4-5 cups regular sugar, 1/2 tsp standard yeast. found a old gallon glas...

M*A*S*H still.....
"M*A*S*H still" ---- other than shows like the dukes of hazzard, I mainly remember a "still" in the doctor's tent on the TV show mash... I looked on Ebay, and noticed there is the occasional 2000ml or even 4000 ml erlenmeyer flask on bid, pyrex of course. I wondered if this might...

how big? (actually, "how small"... lol)
I only want/need about 200 ml of 35-40% when i "imbibe". I was wondering what size boiler I was looking for, to comfortably have this amount when completely done. I've always been fascinated by distilling; always wanted to try it. Its only now I started reading and studying up on it. I vie...
