Lagavulin or Laphroaig when I like a little smoke, Highland Park or Glenfarclas when I just want a balanced full body, Glenlivet if I want a little smoother approach and finally a Glendronach if want a hint of sherry in my whisky. All of them are single malt whiskies btw.

I actually use whole seeds, the alcohol seems to extract the flavours pretty good anyway. So both ways are fine
