Cleaning packing material
Does anyone have a recommendation on the best way to clean copper packing material and/or rashig ring packing. Can they used forever or should I replace the copper at some interval?

Re: uncle jesse's simple sour mash method
I'm on my 5th and final run with this batch of corn, rye and wheat. I used a distillers yeast with AG and eve yeilded 12 Qts of 70% corn whiskey. This was my first run and I really didn't pay close attention to my measurements as I've been experimenting with my new still and getting the feel of the ...

Re: MECCA aka the Kentucky Bourbon Trail
Makers Mark was good but in my opinion Buffalo Trace was the best. It is not on the official trail but did have the best tour by far. Make reservations and get the "hard hat" tour. We did hit all of the distilleries on the tour to get our passports stamped to get our free t shirt as a meme...

Re: uncle jesse's simple sour mash method
Well I ran my second run tonight, actually the first using backset. Nice taste, I have been discarding the first 5 oz. And the rest of the run is by taste. Getting about 21/2 qts from 5 gallons of mash as hearts and saving about another qt as feints for the next run. I'll ad some toasted oak chips, ...

Mile Hi yeast question
Hi all, I am new to the forum but not to distilling. I've been running sugar washes through my home made pot still with fair results but I'm stepping it up a notch. Just bought a 13 gal milk can still from Mile Hi and want to start doing corn likker. I just started a batch of UJSSM using Mile Hi whi...

Re: uncle jesse's simple sour mash method
I'm new to the corn/sourmash making process. I have been distilling sugar wash for over a year. My question is: Can you use flaked maize for your cracked corn? I'm looking for low cost suppliers of my supplies and just bought some flaked maize to start with.
