Re: still design questions.
@ Kidnapper2, Just looked at the Mile Hi Distilling “Heater Element With Thermostat 1500 Watt 115 Volt”. Unfortunately that item is a poor choice for heating a Still Boiler. The item has a thermostat which will cycle the heating element fully on and fully off. The heating element cycling full on and...

@ Sawce, From reading your postings in this thread I get the impression that you believe if you add either Sodium Carbonate or Sodium Bicarbonate that you do not need to make Foreshot/Head/Hart/Tail Cuts. No matter if you add or do not add either Sodium Carbonate or Sodium Bicarbonate you still need...

Agree with Forum Member astronomical above comment.
Suggest doing some Forum research and look at a Liquid Management/Vapor Management Combination Still. That way you obtain the advantages of both types of Still designs.

Just use a 1 ½ inch to 2 inch copper tubing reducer and a short 1 ½ copper tubing nipple to connect your 2 inch diameter column to the 1 ½ inch stainless steel sink drain fitting.
