What about collecting in plastic jugs? Seems like a lot of moonshiners with high capacity stills do this, yet everyone condemns it?

I know some of these are probably rediculous, but any help is greatly appreciated. First off, i ferment in a 5 gallon bucket, but i dont have an airlock. Will it work alright if i just leave the lid cracked slightly so the CO2 can escape? or should i rig up an airlock of some sort. Im using highly a...

Thanks for all the help rtalbigr. I wish it was peach season now but Ill be sure to experiment with peach brandy when the season comes. :)

Brother, that is alot of peaches! According to google theres 250 pounds in 5 bushels.

How much flavor would i sacrifice if i added sugar?

Well this is my first time trying to ferment anything, and i guess i made a pretty novice mistake... I started with a 5 gallon bucket (19 liters). Threw in 5 pounds of sugar, 5 pounds of corn meal, and a half an ounce of highly active yeast. Filled the rest up with warm water, stirred it all up, and...
