Yes Mate, that'll be the one. What a guy, you even got the part number & everything Too bad I'm on the WRONG )*^$#ing CONTINENT! The good news is that I can get them in brass from the supplier down the street. I'm going to go for one of them. Its interesting about using them to control an...

Re: My New Condensor
Pressure test time for my Punkindensor didn't go so well today :| . Its pretty much My worst nightmare came true. Here is the finished unit StillFail1.jpg Basically , I hooked up water in & capped water out. Then, if there were any poor joints, water will appear inn the vapor ports. You can gues...

Re: Tri-clamp, Barrel union, nipple & olives? What's the best?
I like the copper to copper unions, if you can find them. The copper to bronze work just as well, just needs more heat to get the soldering done. (Bronze doesn't use lead like brass, so doesn't need treated) I like the idea of copper to copper, but I have never seen them here in Australia. Where ar...

Tri-clamp, Barrel union, nipple & olives? What's the best?
I'm nearly there on my new pot. The last piece is the union of lyne arm & condensor. It needs to be servicable & provide a solid vapour seal. Vapour path is 1" all the way as I will be lashing this lady for fast stripping runs. The Punkindensor is heavy so it will be supported, I ...

Re: My New Condensor
I only use oxy/acetylene, so the only help i can be here is to suggest you borrow a torch? Really does make what sounds like a hard job simple, and you can go over your joints with the flame once again to ensure a good flow and no leaks. Once you start assembling this sucker, there's no going back ...

Re: My New Condensor
Well I'm pushing on here. For the heck of it, I have gone for the sloped takeoff, But I seem to have hit a snag. The 45deg takeoff is in: still3.jpg the shell is slotted: still4.jpg All is good , but I am having trouble getting silver solder to flow on my joints over 1". I am using a MAPP torch...

Re: My New Condensor
Yeah sure, I'd have to shorten & slot the outer shell & then close it up with the bottom end cap. Seems a bit convoluted for the benefit don't it?pintoshine wrote:punkin's I can follow in the assembly but the 45 tube I can't see how you would ever get it together.

Re: My New Condensor
Hi All I'm Building one of these along the lines of Punk's design. The major difference is that the inlet will be upsized slightly to 25mm for more vapor volume 8) . IMG_0330.jpg IMG_0332.jpg Obviously the 25mm is a tight fit in 40mm but the calcs say the vapour path is fairly free even after it fee...
