Re: MY SEXY GIRL
I believe that Prairiepiss had unwittingly suggested a name for her. I mean, if you think about it, she provides the means for medicinal, mental health and sedation purposes. So why not just call her "Nurse"? It makes sense to me.

Re: Carbon Filtering question
1) I want to thank you fellas for pointing out the critical difference. Yes I did google, wiki, and even asked my mother's uncle's brother's dog (no relation) to confirm my results and OH YEAH....you guys :) 2.)myles thanks for streamlining me a link on the subject. I'll just assume there's a pop qu...

Re: Carbon Filtering question
Bear with my apparent ignorance fellas. I thought that charcoal was a form of activated carbon. My thinking was that you either pour the activated carbon in the liquor then filter said product through a funnel of cotton or a coffee filter, or pouring the product over charcoal (like from a fir...

Carbon Filtering question
Around where I live, the oak grows well and wild. I figure that I can use any tree trimmings to both burn for flavor when aging and carbon filtering. When it comes to filtering, will any char coaling do, or is there a difference in flavor depending on species of the tree burned?

Re: Troubling information in 'Gin' section of parent website
Then I shall eliminate my vinyl tubing from the spout, although it was kinda convenient. I was going to build a parrot for it anyway. Thanks

Re: Troubling information in 'Gin' section of parent website
The author wrote in the misinformation to see who was paying attention. Congratulations! You passed!! :D Serious related question though. You can use plastics in the cooler areas of the still right? I mean, where the product is room temp or colder? Example: vinyl tubing from spout or collection funn...

Re: Alcohol % of wash
Oops. I knew I forgot something. I meant with a pound of brown sugar. Other than that. I was hoping to find that table or graph that helped me lay that out.

Alcohol % of wash
After COMPLETE fermentation of a wash and before distilling, what is the highest alcohol percentage I can expect on the hydrometer reading. My scenario, if it applies, me using bakers yeast and brown sugar in a 5 gallon mix. I thought I saw a table or graph somewhere around this site but I haven't f...

Re: Giving Stilling a bad name
If you don't mind me saying so, the term "artist" I'm assuming you are using lightly. Are there any official charges or complaints brought against them that anyone know of? I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the official address that the "scammer" used to register the site/...

Re: Plastic Carboy
I used one to make 2 batches of beer now. Compared to my glass carboy, I've yet to notice a difference in taste. Just a note though, It's suggested that you minimize moving it around during fermentation. Plastic is flexible and when picking up the carboy, it may suck in oxygen. Other than that, No o...

Re: Beer Distilling
So if it weren't for the {HOPS} in any beer, it would probably be worth running it through a still. So let's say I buy a case of some popular domestic beer and run it through, I'll probably get that look on my face like my rectum and mouth want to switch places. Good to know. I'll do a beer kit and ...

Beer Distilling
I couldn't find the result of my question in the search option, so bear with me that I'm sure this had to have been covered. Has anyone distilled any of the domestic, import or micro brews through your stills? Were the results favorable or would it even be worth my time? I make my own beer from home...

My Story
Some years ago, My 82 year old great uncle in Missouri had passed away. I was invited to come out and look through his estate to see if there was anything that I'd like to claim. I live in California so I really didn't entertain the idea other than to visit relatives that I haven't seen since I was ...
