Re: Unattended Mash
What would be a good ratio of 2 or 6 row to corn? 7lbs of corn and 3lbs 2 row? Or would 1lb of 2 row be sufficient for 10lbs of corn? I haven't been able to find anything on a good ratio.

Re: Unattended Mash

Re: 750ml Mason Jars
Google 750ml liquor bottles. There are several companies from China with a great selection. If you go to the American Distilling Institute website there is a downloadable catalog with more bottle and enclosure suppliers. Also there are all the suppliers of everything you could ever need for a craft ...

Re: small runs in full keg...
Hackware, if you know a bartender or some who manages or runs a bar you should be able to get your keg for free. In WA there is a keg deposit of $30. You might be able to get one from a bar or restaurant if you know someone. Could save a little money. Just a thought.

Aging Corn Whiskey
In doing my reading of the different types of whiskey in the U.S., I read that corn whiskey can only be aged in non charred barrels. Is that a guideline or a rule for craft and commercial distilleries? If you age a corn whiskey in anything but non charred barrels what is it classified as?

New to the site!
Just wanted to say hi, as this is my first official post. I'm from Seattle and have been on the distribution side of wine and beer for twelve years. A year ago a buddy of mine suggested we try distilling. I've always been a fan of drinking! I play rugby, love single malt scotches and oh yeah, did I ...
