Re: Rum recipes
Yep just a matter of taste, Pint's fast fermenting molasses wash is great! and I used it for a long time and still do when I can't afford the brown sugar, I get 10 gallons of molasses a week for free, from my next door neighbor, He is a truck driver and hauls molasses to the grain company twice a we...

Re: Rum recipes
if you are looking for a great recipe, the Pugirum recipe in the tried and true recipe section can't be beat. the recipe is for 10 gallons so I multiply it by 5 for 50 gallons of wash. and multiply the yeast bomb recipe by 4, that works great for a plastic 55 gallon drum fermenter. I use, 10 gallons...

Re: Experimental Tequilla!!!
If Your Pugilla is half as good as your Pugirum recipe, it should be a winner! I have a full sheet restaurant stove and oven and I think I will try baking them long and slow to bring out the sugars. I am lucky though, My Wife and I both love the smell of onions cooking

Re: UJSM Vs. Mashing
WhiteLightnin, I can recommend a book, 'The Complete Joy of Home Brewing by Charlie Papazian. It's a brewing book but it has an excellent section on mashing complete with infusion guideline charts. It was my tutorial for brewing and worth a read. All the mashing techniques are directly transferable...

Re: Anyone use old bread/cakes for mash
I Think the Russian beer is called Kvass it is a cross between a beer and a wine, it is a tart drink that you can drink still or sparkling. My Neighbor is from Siberia and said all the farm workers would stop and take a Kvass break several times a day and said that and said that it gave them a lot o...

Re: Pugi's Rum or "Pugirum"
Hi Pugi, Your yeast bomb is " Da Bomb" It works great! I am working on my 5th 30 gal rum wash now, and the Rum Oils are already coming through, My question is, do You Carbon Filter your Rum at any stage? or does it take away the Rum Flavor? Thanks
