Re: Condenser not knocking everything down in column...
Sounds to Me like the boka is flooding at full power. Causing the liquid to bubble out the top vent. I also see two problems here.

Re: Boka water test questions
What kinda breaker you running on that element set up?
My poor math shows those elements at 110 volts would be some where around 21 amps each. With the heat up time you are taking about I suspect only one of those elements is running to its capacity available at 110 volts, if that .

Re: 2300 watt (how large should my boiler be)
More watts for heat up, turn it back for spirit run. My 2" boka will flood at 1350 watts after a bit, runs nicely at 1100 for hours. 95% take off for the entire spirit run.
toward the end of the run I go back up to 1350 ish and finish off the run.

That is one that caught my eye, dumping mash spoils all over out in the open. Even a novice passer by might question that mess. Smelling of lowwines and ferment

Re: Just wanted to share.
Well yes sort of, A personal achievement if you will, I have had runs with much less abv that ended satisfactory as well. This run went well from beginning to end. Output speed was good meaning I didn't squeeze it down to a drip a minute lol . I have wanted to see if the column I built would actuall...

Finally after much trial and error achieved 95% for a spirit run neutral, 2" boka packed with rachin rings and copper mesh.
Has run 94% before but this tops that.

Re: Turbo Yeast? Have you tried it? why all the hate?
The turbos I have used all give good results as long as I don't try and get greedy and push above 12% abv -and 72ish degrees wash . Get greedy and go above that and My result is not so good.

Re: Has anybody tried these charred barrels?
Yes and they put some Fancy art work on it to.
I sent them a zip file of what I wanted and they burnt it on the barrel face. I have filled out three times and it leaves a nice spice note with vanilla tones to the drink.
Highly recommended company.

Sounds like a plan. I don't have any fores yet, but I precleaned my pot still copper pipes by drawing a rag soaked in denatured alcohol through as many of the parts as possible. Tied two pieces of twine to the rag so I could pull it through from both directions multiple times. This was done after s...

I think ( but don't know for sure) that the law will help the self employed by allowing them to buy into an insurance exchange - kind of like a group insurance plan - at a lower premium than what an individual policy now costs. It is a big, complicated law and many of the provisions don't take effe...
