Re: Just a polite suggestion.

I think it's prudent to keep your whereabouts vague, but lets get real. If the government really wanted to shut us home distillers that participate on this board, they could. They have the technology to easily track our IPS address. By using an Anonymous Internet Access service like Patriot Interne...

Re: Forum totals for 2012...Running total for the year!!

Damn rad, been with the same woman for 21 yrs & she's still on the outside ? let her in man. I bet the cooking gets a whole lot better. :sarcasm: How do you keep that kind of a secret ? I reckon that's a damned good question: if I even drive past a pub on the way home, my wife knows. ...

Not sure what the taxes applied to spirits in other countries are, but in Australia - the tax on spirits is about $72 /L of alcohol (so 2L of 50% is $72... Etc.) It wouldn't take too many litres to make the tax office, liquor licensing agencies etc. interested in what we are doing... Just 2 or 3 bee...

Re: Danger of explosions?

+1 Ensuring your design (or circumstance) doesnt allow pressure to build will greatly reduce any risk. Never-the-less, circumstances sometimes intervene: water supply or the pump might fail; something may cause the still to topple; a pipe may burst etc. Etc. Therefore, it is wise to never leave your...

Good luck :)

I've just finished winding my first double coil too. Not super difficult, but be sure to take your time. :)

Re: CLEAN COPPER PIPE

I would use a trash bag folded up several times and use it as a cap over one end of your pipe. Then secure it using a hose clamp so that the end of the pipe is water tight. I'd fill it approx 1/2 way with water then pour some Muriatic acid (from the hardware store) inside the pipe. Now all you have...

Re: Noob from Sydney, Australia

Welcome aboard. You already have a still. So I would say at least try to build it. You will get more enjoyment out of it in the end. Being able to say I built the still that me this. Yeah! I'm leaning that way... The satisfaction of tinkering and, hopefully, getting it right. As you say, I've got t...

Noob from Sydney, Australia

Have been lurking around for a few weeks; thought it was about time I said hi. Hi! Already, the bits and pieces I've picked up from here have improved my product enormously - thanks guys. I've finally gotten to the stage where my mates (the few who I let know) actually prefer my product when I do my...
