I nerver did use a thumper Possum, once I get my still up to temp, I cut the heat back and run it slow with a steady flow of cold water in the condenser.

53 proof is not even fit to drink in my book, I'd throwed it back in with the 100 proof and double run it.

Remus, was it cloudy when it came from your still, or did it get cloudy when you tempered it??

I've had one for years that I use for drinking water when on camping trips but mine holds 10 gallon. I'd say they could be used for a cooker and are heavy enough to weld on also. I have a facet welded at the bottom of mine.

They have a fitting at the top opening that's easy to connect a SS adaptor to without any welding for one reason.
