New Find
Today our town held its annual town wide yardsale and I stumbled across this gem. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t52/Ripside10e/0908121421.jpg I figured for 15 bucks you can't beat it I figured. Got it home and filled it with water and it holds tight. Now that my impulse buy is over the question...

Re: Finally Commited
Made my flange today after I picked up my keg. Decided against the old one and got a regular one I found. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t52/Ripside10e/photo-15.jpg The picture makes the flange look cockeyed but it sits straight on the ground. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t52/Ripside10e/ph...

Re: Finally Commited
well...its not pretty but it fits nicely in my pipe, isn't kinked, and doesn't leak. I am partially embarrassed to upload it and show you guys though. One that that keeps me at peace is once its in nobody has to see it again. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t52/Ripside10e/0527121344.jpg Edit: res...

Finally Commited
I manned up yesterday and finally committed myself to making a boka. I've been using my little pot still for a while but now its time for a change. I've been collecting my pieces and I think I have what I need to start making it. So far I've wasted quite a bit of copper alone just trying to bend the...

Double Sugaring?
An old timer told me when he used to make a mash he would make his mash using whatever amount of sugar he usually did for the recipe but than a few days later would add another of that amount to the mash while it was fermenting. All he said about it was that he like to do it that way because that wa...

Re: First pot still

Gonna let them air out a bit and go in for the taste tests. should ...

Re: First pot still
I got my new Stainless pot in and drilled the top hole out for my copper, i drilled it out small enough to thread it in than soldered it. As much as I don't want to because i feel like it'll be a mess and a pain i'll probably end up sealing it with flour paste and use those big black paperclips to h...

Hello from NH
Hey I just recently learned about home distillation and made a 3 gallon pot still. I'm looking to run some corn mash through it that I've let ferment the last 2 weeks while i built my still. I'll post up pictures of it in the pot still category. Hope my first tests a good one.
