i use wild cherry wood ...i split a 8 inch round or so piece to get to the heart of the wood ...the darker part in the middle...the wood i use i gathered from a tree that a tornado laid down it was green when i cut it up for smoking meats....so it was dried about a year b4 i started using it for my ...

you need to Have a bung welded in by someone that can weld stainless steel...some call it braizing i think

after spreading the pears out on a table to ripin up a bit more ...2day i chunked and 1/4ed them ended up with a 5 gal bucket of chunks and 1/4s to put in the freezer...that was a task, with 4 freezers between my mom and me, getting a 5 gal bucket into one of them... was a task in itself! few days t...

sorry i didnt get back to the post...both went very well...came off smooth but not much content the alcohol content must have been very low but what did come off was really good stuff! ended up pulling about a quart of saver stuff after the cuts...next mission is FRESH pears might do the preserved p...

pears and more pears

picked up 3 milk crates of pears from a friends tree,im guessing this to be about 2 bushels? can get more the tree is loaded i have them all laid out on a table tring to get them as ripe as i can then i plan to quarter them up by offset cuts and core one of the quarters then freeze and thaw to prepa...

the clamps that came with my PS2 were not strong enough to seal the hoses...i got some regular stainless clamps from the auto parts store works great now no leaks!

the ol timers did it mostly by experience taught to them by their grand father,father ,unkle, brother or lol their granny!
there ways to tell to get close but i would suggest getting a alcohol meter for the 10 bucks unless u know of one of these ol timers to teach u the ways

Bent, Oct 2012 is when they told us ...looks like they are getting close to finished with it..and ur right it does smell alot better in the warehouses than it tastes by far lol...funny i used to be a big beam fan but its just not the same anymore!

not sure where to put this move if needed lol stopped at the JiM Beam Distillery in Kentucky on our way home from Vacation...over all it was OK tour was more of a history tour though ...no actual distilling process they will be opening a new part of the tour in Oct that will be the distilling portio...

whats it going to hurt to try it? does it have any pellets in it?i get the 12% all grain(about 12 bucks a 50# bag) and tell them its for a spoiled goat lol...main thing to stay away from is alfalfa and such not sure what the peanut hulls will be like but it doesnt sound good..still wont hurt to try ...
