so mash seems to be doing fine, will it help if I just strip it off when it finishes and add it to feints and run it a second time? I could not re heat (boiler is not big enough)

yep it was in the bottom of a corn bag, looks like the bag may have been setting on a wet floor

so I was in the process of putting together a rather large corn mash, got my water up to 150 degrees to melt sugar in fermenter, dumped in 90lb of sugar and wanted to add corn while sugar water was still really hot so I cut bag open and began to pour, low and behold when I tipped bag all the way ups...

for some reason I was thinking yield should be around 7 gallons according to calc I used on parent site for a 55 gallon wash

well still not quite what I had hoped for, ended up collecting 4.25 gallons at 83%, ran it as slow as I possibly could, I was collecting 1 gallon in roughly 3 1/2 hours
any suggestions?

wash slowed way down today, measured sg and it is at 0.990 pretty sure shes done, how long should I let it clear?

wash took off like a rocket, checked ph today and it fell to 3.6 in 12 hours, slowly bringing it back to about 4.5
I also went ahead and boiled 1 1/2 cups of yeast and added to wash for nutrients

so here is progress so far..... 55 gallon wash (used well water this time) 85-90lb of sugar dash of Epsom salt 9 cups tomato paste starting ph was 6.8 after sugar,salt,paste was added 5 1/2 tabelspoons citric acid brought ph to 4.53 (added 1 tablespoon at a time dissolved in water) temp is at 91 deg...

how well do yall think this should perform in a 4"flute with 8 plates and a 30 gallon boiler? as long as mash is done and finished out correctly? thanks for all the input fellas,i am going to round up some supplies and start another wash and keep better notes, going after some spring water and ph meter, as soon as I get it put together I will take starting SG and get ph levels where they need to be and see if this will correct problem on yields

SS do you think I need to add DAP to wash also? as far as the pickling lime goes on a wash of that size how much would you suggest adding at a time if necessary
