Re: Help with Electric before I kill myself please.
Ok constructive critic. First yes, you need the ground, it is the most important thing for safety. A cover is needed for short circuits maybe you touching or the pup licking it get the idea. Next you mention nothing about a controller. You will have flooding without one. That would be with any stil...

Re: pot still with a lil reflux
I can tell you from personal expeiriance you are likely to never be able to achieve 100% reflux....... because the vapor speed will be too fast through the .5 inch for that short liebig to knock it all down.........I completely understand the desire to make what you can with what material you have.....

Re: Adding Sugar to continue ferment?
I think in a hobby size mash just use a recipe that gets the pot. alc you want without going too high and stressing the yeast.......
I think micro dist. employ that tactic with very large washes to avoid the initial heat of the yeast working... then add after things have calmed down a bit....

The pic of the first ground clamp will work...... you really need to use 12 AWG wire....... the stores around you don't have wire you can buy cut to length? 12 Ga SO cord would be good..... you could aslo buy a 12GA extension cord and cut to your length

Use the ring terminals and shrink tubing.... then take a 4-6" piece of bicycle innertube slide over the wire and element secure to the nut/shoulder of the element with zip tye or hose clamp..... secure other end of inner tube to wire with zip ties....... Very easy.....cheap redneck engineering....

perhaps I should have asked what type/model cooler you have......... If it is one of the cheap office/home water coolers no that will not work.......
But if it is a commercial/school grade cooler like I was thinking then I do beleive it will work with a few modifications.......

Couple things..... Depending on how large your water tank/ barrell is it could work great....... Rip all the unneccesary cabinetry off of it..... you will need to replace the thermostat.... I would get a thermostat with a long bulb and have it sense the water temp about halfway up the barrell.... Ma...
