Re: any instructions or run through for T500
You can save yourself a small fortune buying copper pipe from a scrap metal dealer its not even uncommon to find unused fittings and elbows there or 2" with an elbow hard soldered on. My first pot still cost me like $50 to make and most of thst was an end cap and liebig condenser fittings

Re: Economics of Home Distilling and why i got started
In the past ive always answered this question with the opinion that its mostly about the enjoyment of producing something of quality and perhaps some libation unique. That said prices are getting to the point now that cost savings are becoming more of a factor, around here its like $6 verses $60 giv...

Friend up the track here runs a thumper no problems on wood, or did. Believe he plans to switch to gas as its easier and cleanerdrmiller100 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2024 8:00 pm You can do wood fired with a doubler. Seems pretty hard to run a reflux still on wood.
I tried to run my continuous on etoh. I haven't gotten it to work yet

That was SBB said he was there, however turns out i did actually spend a couple weeks round there that place. It is pretty country saw a bit round there had tour of butcher's hollow and all that went to a country music show in paintsville met a lot of good folks before heading up to Ashland to catch...

Re: The liar's bench
Not too sure about that SBB , last time I went up Barra fishing in Kakadu i had to work right up to leaving. It got down to -7 back home in S A, I had to put downpipes on guttering at the hospital and was wet and freezing. I left to drive with 3 other drivers and we drove non-stop 30 hours up to the...

Re: rifles
Yeah the push buttons are not exactly semi autos but they do allow for deliberate fast follow up shots, these are required not so much for ducks but more so rabbits where you come across a warren and had very little time on multiple targets generally not in exactly the same direction. I could also s...

Re: The liar's bench
G'day y'all , my old mate Bags that has been part of some of my stories has closed his eyes to wake no more and was laid to rest last Friday. The plum brandy we drank at his wake was one he helped run and left over from his 60th a few months back. Good food, good music, good drink, good friends, but...

Re: The liar's bench
I spent Christmas in my old home town on the Murray River which is in flood, the second highest level in history. It got quite hot but there was a ban of and boating or swimming even in backwaters, bloody nanny state. I mean to say, I the main channel of the river is dangerous and power boats will w...

Re: 20 years of aging in 6 days
Bottom line : 20 years in 6 days is a hoax and an outlandish claim but you can do something in that time make something that will be drinkable in 20 years? Nice idea but I am 81. Something for the grandkids... Geoff (Off topic) We should catch up, had plans of heading to Echuca this holidays but th...

Re: 20 years of aging in 6 days
There's just no substitute for time in oak. Period. I'm positive the result is far superior to any other method I've researched or attempted thus far, based on my experience Ive found the same to be true, anything that Ive barrel aged long term is much much better than anything Ive aged using other...

Re: 20 years of aging in 6 days
Distress aging does work, at least to a fashion. There are a whole bunch of methods to achieve this and some are better than others but none I'm aware of ever really replicate time aged spirit and there is no way in hell you are getting 20 years of aging in 6 days, that would be a mean feat for 6 ye...

Squeaky wheel gets attention  lots of good folk get ignored for being polite and patient . Mum was treated for bowel infections caused by this and that supposed diagnoses. In the end I said you need to stop being so polite to these darn horse doctors and demand to see a specialist, I asked ...
