Sounds great and I'm planning a batch or 2.
I can't get molassas here but I have taken 3 gal of raw juice of sugar cane and simmered it down to 2 galons. If I went further I guess I would have molasses.
Hard to get 20-0-0 fert here also. will tomato paste work as well?

OK WIKI has backset in the glossary. Backset is "left over liquid after a distilling run used to add the the next mash"
backset = backwash right?

glossary
I've been reading till my head hurts and it's not a hangeover.
I keep coming up with new terms that some of which, I can't figure out. Backwash, whats that?
Is there a glossary of some kind on this site for dummys like me?

That's ok cause I want to malt the corn anyway. After the corn sprouts, can I kill it by boiling? OR;...

reflux to pot still
Hi, I have a reflux still but want to use it as a pot still as I have access to pure sugar cane and want to make rum. If I remove all of the copper packing, will it work as a pot still?

New here
Hey, Hondo Gringo here. (H G for short) I'm joining from Honduras. I made some shine a couple of years ago and am ready to do it again. I never made much while in Ky but now I have more time to learn and practice. I have a turbo reflux still with a 15 gal boiler and wanr to make some good stuff.
