Buying still possably
has anyone ever gone through http://turbostomper.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow to buy a still and if so i was looking at the electric Raptor combo. please let me know if these guys are good or bad. thank you. your feedback helps me and everyone.

heat source is my stove ( with fire extiguisher in the room) cooler full of ice water and a 120 submusable pump. temp was between 185 -195. i was using turbo 48 hour yeast. not too sure what you mean by SG and FG. i will let you know if it is explained better or i read it soon. http://i777.photobuck...

was wondering if the corn meal should feel silky/slimmy and does it come out to be more than what i got out of it? and if anyone else had gotten something over 98proof

the first mash i ran through was of flaked corn and malted barley. i got 110 proof out of it. thought it was due to no suger. the second witch i just finished was with corn 1 lbs corn meal, and 4 lbs sugar. it came out at 98 proof. it was a little silky/slimmy. i am running a small 3gal pot still. d...

i ran the a little of the batch. it ran good and i got 111 proof out of it.

i got two things...
1. is the mash going to be ok to go with or should i restart it?
2. it has a cooling tube around the end and a inlet and outlet for a waster hose.
i hope i didnt screw the mash up.

sorry it was carbon filter.. i was looking in the forum to see something i might just be lost while looking, i am trying to learn as much as i can, i need to look slower and intake more. thank you for being patiant.

heat 5 gal water to 170 degrees add 8.5-9 lbs crushed/ flaked corn( this one is not feed quality) remove from heat stir for 5-10 min constantly :eugeek: watch temp and stir on and off till 150 degrees stir in 1-1.5 lbs crushed malted barley( can add suger if like( i tried with out sugar)) let sit ti...

thank you. i am still not 100% on how it should taste. it is mostly corn and malt barley. the temp has been consistant in the 70's. i started it on sunday and am hoping the part gets here on friday or sat. but if not it might get here tuesday and i will run it through and see how it goes.

how long is mash good for?
i made my mash on sunday it should be ready thursaday and i have to wait on a new part for my still. is there a time line to keep your mash? or is there a experation timeline on it? if you have anyhting to add to hel me that would be awesome.
