Re: phase angle controller build
Here is the wiring diagram your looking for. shows 110 and 220 wiring. SOme would say that you should not run the voltmeter continusly when hooked up AFTER the controller. Something about them burning out. You can however throw a swtich in there and only turn it on for a min or two at a time. I have...

Re: Confirm my parts list? Gas to electric conversion
I thought because of the NPT(coupler) to NPS (element) fitting that a healthy amount of teflon tape would seal it up nicely? Straight thread into taper thread bottomed out before getting to the element's gasket. So teflon was the only way to go aside from running a NPS tap down the NPT thread's? Als...

I feel like If I got the 4500w lwd Ill be wishing I had spent a couple extra bucks and got the 5500w ulwd. Unfortunately they are a bit more expensive and that's the only ...

So, still no ferruel today. But I just know itll be here tommorow  . Ive read that a 24:1 ratio is best for packin height ie 48" of packing. That just seems very tall to me, ive got 11" just for the coil and plates so 59" total if I go for "optimum" height. The colum i...

Re: Soldering the slant plates in a bokabob
When i did mine i used a 1/16 " grinding disk on my grinder. The cut ended up a bit wider but that was ok. When cutting the plates out again used the cutting disk but DID NOT clean up the "burrs" left on the plates. When I tapped them into the slots the burrs held everything tight and...

I wish it was that easy...did the test with about a ft of head... had pump in the sink and coil on the counter. still only able to get 1/3 of a ltr. Was only a $13 pump from home hardware, didnt have the highest of hopes for it. Worked great on my liebeg condeser tho, lived up to its 500 gph rating....

Thanks qball. I was smiling like a little school girl when I pulled it of the madrel...quite happy with how it turned out. Thats pretty ballsy of em to spend time tearing out all your copper like that. They had no idea when you were gonna be commin home, I can see it in an abandoned house, or under construction, but a livedin house like that..pretty bold.

Well, finished my first coil today..... Kinda proud of this little thing. I cant see anyspots on it were it flattened out too much, but with my pump I only get just over 350-400 ml a minute... just over a 1/3 of a ltr. The pump is just a small fountian pump rated at 500gph... Ive seen many people us...
